Roman Fayerberg is a registered patent attorney, who focuses his practice on the development and management of strategic patent portfolios and counseling clients on patent issues, primarily in technologies related to medical devices, drug delivery systems, biodegradable polymers and films, and coating formulations for medical devices and other commercial applications. Roman also advises clients in connection with intellectual property due diligence investigations for venture capital investment, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing opportunities.
Roman’s patent practice builds on the seven years of experience he gained as a research and development engineer at C.R. Bard and Boston Scientific Corporation. Immediately prior to law school, Roman was a research and development engineer for five years at C.R. Bard, Inc., where he developed biomaterials-based products for hemostasis and soft tissue reconstruction, and designed manufacturing equipment for these products. His engineering career began at Boston Scientific Corporation, where Roman designed and developed new products for less invasive neurosurgeries, such as catheters, stents and stent delivery systems. Roman also has experience in U.S. and international trademark practice, including counseling clients with respect to the selection and protection of trademarks, procuring U.S. and international trademark registrations, and managing trademark portfolios. In addition to his transactional experience, Roman has litigated patent, trademark and trade dress infringement and unfair competition actions in federal courts, and conducted opposition and cancelation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board
