Roy Chin

Executive Chairman, Vista Robotics

Roy Chin is the Founder, Inventor and Executive Chairman of Vista Robotics, an intelligent surgical robotics company developing next-generation robotic surgery through digital twins, physical AI and surgical intelligence.

Vista Robotics is building a platform that integrates patient-specific anatomy, AI, procedural planning, robotics and intelligent surgical instruments. Its digital-twin architecture is designed to create a patient-specific representation of anatomy and surgical workflow, while physical AI translates that intelligence into precise, controlled and reproducible robotic actions.

The company’s initial spine platform addresses pedicle screw trajectory, automated and reproducible discectomy and endplate preparation, interbody cage insertion, and rod fixation. Vista Robotics’ broader vision is to move surgical robotics beyond navigation and positioning toward intelligent systems capable of understanding anatomy, procedure and surgical intent while maintaining surgeon oversight.

Mr. Chin has more than 37 years of medical-device and surgical technology experience. His career includes Stryker Endoscopy, CardioThoracic Systems, AFx, SpineView and SpineEX, spanning minimally invasive surgery, cardiovascular, endoscopy, spine technology and robotics.

He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas and has more than 50 issued and pending patents. In December 2024, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim.
