Dr. Gross brings over 30 years experience in the design, development and commercialization of Medical devices. He currently serves as the CSO of Canary Medical, a company developing smart implantable devices for the Orthopedic, Cardiovascular, and Aesthetic markets and is CEO of CHARM Informatics, a joint venture between Canary Medical and BioScience Managers developing a medical data monetization and informatics platform for smart devices. He was previously Senior Vice President R&D and CTO at CareFusion, Senior Vice President R&D at Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, and held a variety of executive R&D leadership roles within Medtronic’s Heart Valve and Spinal Biologics organizations. He has over 40 patents and patent applications covering cardiovascular, orthopedics, wound healing, and smart implant products and technologies.
Dr. Gross received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Houston, and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Memphis focused on cardiovascular fluid mechanics. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering and has served on Advisory Boards for both the Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Memphis Biomedical Engineering Departments.
