Alejandro Galindo is Vice President and President of the Intensive Insulin Management (IIM) business unit within the Diabetes Group at Medtronic. As head of the global IIM business, Alejandro drives the development of innovations in insulin delivery and continuous glucose monitoring for pediatric and adult patients with type 1 diabetes as well as intensively managed patients with type 2 diabetes. He joined the Diabetes Group in September 2014 as Vice President and General Manager, IIM, and was named Vice President and President, IIM, in July 2015.
Alejandro joined Medtronic after 20 years at General Electric, where he most recently served as General Manager, Emerging Markets, Healthcare Systems. In that position, he was responsible for leading a global cross-functional organization to deliver on key customer and business imperatives around portfolio management, financial performance, market penetration and customer satisfaction. Previous to this, he served as General Manager, Strategic Corporate Development, Healthcare Systems, where he was responsible for executing transactions including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and partnerships/alliances for Detection and Guidance Solutions, a $2 billion division of GE Healthcare. Alejandro also previously led the Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Product Development teams for the Appliances and Energy units of General Electric.
Alejandro earned an MBA and Master’s degree in Finance from Indiana University, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Monterrey Tech in Monterrey, Mexico. He also completed GE Leadership programs for Experienced Leaders, Innovation & Growth, Experienced Finance, as well as advanced coursework in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
