Josh DeFonzo co-founded Mendaera to harness the transformative potential of robotics in healthcare beyond its current limited applications, believing that broader deployment will enhance access to quality care, boost workforce productivity, and help hospitals and healthcare systems more efficiently meet demands for services amid declining provider availability. Before Mendaera, he served as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Auris Health, where he played a pivotal role in its $6 billion acquisition by Johnson & Johnson, a landmark deal in medtech history. His leadership roles, including President of Robotics and Digital Solutions at Johnson & Johnson, provided him with extensive expertise in robotics technology and commercialization and adoption strategies. With over 20 years in healthcare technology, he has held key positions at companies like Medtronic, and other start-ups including Invuity (acquired by Stryker), EndoGastric Solutions (acquired by Merit Medical), and CareDx (NASDAQ: CDNA).
