A medical device industry veteran with more than two decades of executive leadership experience, Dr. Wilson P. Constantine is responsible for driving the strategic growth of Nihon Kohden’s North American subsidiary. After joining the company in September 2014 as chief operating officer, he was named president and chief executive officer in April 2015 as part of a reorganization that will allow the company to anticipate and remain ahead of the needs of the rapidly changing U.S. healthcare market.
Prior to Nihon Kohden, Dr. Constantine served as chief executive officer of Monarch Medical Technologies, a private equity-backed spinout of Hospira Worldwide. During his two-year tenure with the Charlotte, N.C.-based company, he implemented a highly successful corporate rebranding campaign, led the company to ISO 13485 certification, secured FDA clearance of the company’s next-generation technology and was responsible for Monarch‘s first international sale to a major hospital in Dubai.
Previously, Dr. Constantine held positions at Fortune 500 market leader Stryker Orthopaedics, where he was vice president of commercial operations; Misonix Inc., where he was senior vice president of sales, strategic planning and new product development; and Henry Schein Inc., where he was general manager with full P&L responsibility for the company’s $350 million Core Medical & Veterinary business divisions.
Dr. Constantine has also held marketing strategy and product development positions with leading medical products suppliers, including units of and/or entities later acquired by Aesculap-B/Braun, Boston Scientific, Medtronic and Smith & Nephew.
