Anupam Dattamajumdar is the former Global Head of R&D for Philips Ultrasound. As a medtech executive, he is known as a visionary, bold, and patient-centric known for enabling business growth with first principles thinking with entrepreneurial spirt & grit. Anupam has brought numerous innovations to global markets ranging from Medical Imaging AI technologies, Autonomous Pharmacy solutions, Automated Breast Ultrasound, Cell-phone based mobile medical imaging equipment, Ventilators and immunotherapy devices. He has deeply engaged in new market creation leveraging AI and analytics enabled SaaS platforms and has partnered with Venture Capital and Private Equity firms to deliver innovative products. During the COVID pandemic, he led blitz-scaling of production of 35,000 ICU ventilators for US DHHS and global aid organizations.
Prior to Philips, Anupam was the Global Head of R&D for Becton Dickinson’s Respiratory Care spin-out (Vyaire Medical) and was CTO & VP of Advanced Technologies and Data Science at Omnicell Inc. Earlier, he spent 15+ years at GE where he led the healthcare research portfolio at GE’s Global Research Center and held senior executive roles building teams in US, Norway, Austria, Korea, Japan, China and India. Anupam holds multiple patents and has served on technology standards committees of FDA, AIUM and IEC advising on medical imaging safety and on ASHP’s Commission on Goals for AI in Pharmacy and Future of Digital workforce in Healthcare.
Anupam received his Bachelor of Technology (Honours) degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi; earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Bioengineering from the University of Washington, Seattle and is an alumnus of Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
